Monroeville FFA

MONROEVILLE On July 24, the Monroeville FFA sent members, Ashley Kulhman, and Ashley Ward to the annual FFA Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. The two members had the opportunity to tour the city, its monuments and even had shopping time. They helped people in need, attended agricultural applying activities. They also went to leadership seminars, and conferences, that involved activities dealing with leadership skills. Members were split into separate day seminars, where they learned only a faction of what leadership really is and what it takes.

"The seminars are so informative, I think every officer for any class should take this. It was such a good important and fun experience, that I think that any leader of any organization should go to WLC, or something like it," Kuhlman said.

Instead of rooming together, members were separated into rooms with people they didn't know. This was to set the member up with the ability to make friends from other states, and meet new people. Both girls roomed with people from Florida, and Texas. They both talk to the people they met today. They listened to congressional speakers and many others who shared their leadership experiences and skills.

"It was a really neat experience and I learned a lot of things that I cannot wait to apply to in my ag class," Ward said.
