1Tbs. baking power
1 1/2c. butter-flavored Crisco
2 eggs slightly beaten
1/3 c. milk
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until well blended. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Mix thoroughly. Use hands if necessary to mix so that when a small amount of dough is squeezed together it will not crumble. If it appears too dry, add just a little more milk.
Take about a rounded tablespoon of dough and form a small cylindar shaped cookie.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Gently press four M&M's into the cookie dough.
Bake at 375 degrees for eight to 10 minutes, or until the bottom of the cookie is lightly browned.
Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Sprinkle power sugar (if desired) after the cookies have cooled. This recipe will make 2 to 3 dozen depending on the size of each cylinder. This recipe can be doubled.
