The best dressed animal contest was held in the Doug Wilson Building at the Huron County Fair on Friday, Aug. 17. Fifteen Junior Fair participants took the time and effort to design a costume for their animal and in some cases for themselves as well.

The contest was judged by the Huron County Junior Fair Royalty, and the costumes were so good, it was a tough decision. In the end, awards were given for the most creative costume, the cutest, the funniest, and the best over all.

There was a great variety in costumes. They ranged from a tiny rabbit complete with a canoe and paddle to a goat with a cart carrying Santa's Elves. The youths were dressed as everything from a pirate to an old woman.

Here are the awards:

Most Creative: Boen Dalton and "Sweetie".

Funniest: Cory Hartley and "Henery".

Cutest: Amanda Miller and "Cloverbud".

Overall Best: Dylan Hickman and "Mo".

Participants were: Lydia Bennett, Tabitha Wilelm, Brandon Kamann, Macy Ott, Lauren Ott, Cory Hartley, Amanda Miller, Cassondra Dixon, Janelle Watson, Katie Miller, Dylan Hickman, Alicyn Fooce.
