Entertaining activities on Put-in-Bay continue into October

PUT-IN-BAY - While it's time to switch to back-to-school mode, there is still plenty going on at Put-in-Bay. Following is a list of activities on the island.

Every Sunday: Classic car parade, free of charge.

Daily: Interpretive talks by park rangers at Perry's Monument, free of charge.

Every Friday through Sunday: Musket Firing demonstrations, Perry's Monument, free of charge.

Daily: Interpretive talks by Park Rangers at Perry's Monument, free of charge.

Thursday: North Bass Island "Bootlegger's Tour."

Friday: Barbershopper's annual performance at Perry's Monument, free of charge.

Saturday: Kids' Day at the LEI Historic Museum.

Saturday: Stargazer's Cruise aboard Miller Ferry.

Saturday: Barbershopper's annual performance on Middle Bass Island, free of charge.

Aug. 14: Bartender Olympics, free of charge.

Sept. 8: Historical Weekend, includes Art in the Park, Classic Car Parade, Boy Scout Camporee, Musket demonstrations, Stone Lab/Gibraltar Island and South Bass Island open house. Toledo Symphony annual performance at Perry's Monument. After the concert, Miller Ferry will run an extra trip at 9 p.m. from Put-in-Bay to Catawba, free of charge.

Sept. 9: Historical Weekend, includes the Ohio Muffins vs. Put-in-Bay Mossbacks old fashioned baseball game and tour of the historic Doller House, free.

Sept. 10 to 15: Elderhostel hosted by the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society.

Sept. 15: New Year's at the Bay.

Sept. 17 Dive! Put-in-Bay Harbor Clean-Up.

Sept. 22: Miller Boat Line Run/Walk 5K Race.

Sept. 22: PIBVFD annual Clambake.

Oct. 6: Island Wine Festival.
