On Saturday, the Huron County Solid Waste Management District and the Firelands Computer Club joined together to host an electronics recycling day. The rain held off and more than 50 residents turned in items for recycling. Beginning at 8 a.m. a steady stream of cars and trucks arrived at the facility until the noon finish time.
Items included 20 televisions, 100 hard drives and computer parts, printers, scanners, radios and five of the heaviest typewriters ever made. "I have to say, the counsel TV we loaded up was the biggest item I could ever thought we would get," said Pam Hansberger with the SWMD. "That TV was as big as a couch. It took three guys to get it in the trailer."
