Drivers need to stop for bus

Norwalk Reflector Staff • Oct 28, 2015 at 3:47 PM

Picture the school bus stopping in front of a home, snow and ice on the road. The bus stop sign is up and two, sometimes three, cars pass the parked bus at 8:10 a.m. at the top of Woodlawn Avenue going toward downtown.

My daughter is in a wheelchair the reason the bus takes longer than an ordianry bus and if for some reason a car goes out of control, the probability of her being able to get out of the way is not good. It takes both the driver and the aide to load the wheelchair on the ramp, with one running the lift controls.

If you are in such a hurry, try another route. My daughter and the other children did not ask to be handicapped. But the truth is they are. Stop.
