Daniel E. Radebaugh, 18, of Attica, was charged with failure to control Saturday after he attempted to pass a car while heading west on U.S. 224. He went off the left side and hit a sign and pine tree and continued going west through a yard and into a pond. Radebaugh then went through a bean field for about half-mile before stopping. He reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

No citation was issued Saturday immediately after the motor home driven by Gary L. Lehr, 40, of Shreve, hit pedestrian Ernest W. Gregory, 40, of 23 1/2 E. Main St., Apt. A, New London, who was walking in an eastbound Ohio 18 lane. A medical helicopter flew Gregory to the Medical University of Ohio Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries. He was not listed in the hospital database this morning.


Responded to the Findlay command post at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday in response to an e-mail message about multiple people being trapped in the heavily flooded region. The two firefighters evacuated between 25 and 30 occupants who were trapped by flood waters and searched several other areas for about six hours. Returned to station at 3:50.

Found no signs of carbon monoxide during an investigation at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday at 244 E. Main St. Returned to station at 4:34.


A Cleveland Road motorist reported a city vehicle backed into her car Wednesday at the intersection of Bluegrass Drive and Republic Street. Police forwarded a report to the Norwalk Law Director's office for the consideration of charges in the non-injury accident.

A Bank Street resident reported missing a set of Craftsman deep sockets and two ratchets from a suspected burglary Wednesday, where the suspect entered an unlocked basement.

Responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at a Cline Street business Wednesday.

A Stower Lane business employee reported Wednesday two unauthorized charges were made last month on the company credit card.

John Chaney, 45, of Sandusky, was arrested on a local warrant Wednesday at the Erie County Jail and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area landlady reported finding several suspected items of drug paraphernalia in a small wooden box Wednesday while putting an evicted tenant's belongings on the curb. Police seized the items as evidence so they could be destroyed.

Jeffrey W. Souslin, 37, whose address was unavailable, was served a summons Wednesday and charged with disorderly conduct.

Area residents reported finding an abandoned bicycle in the rack behind the Norwalk Public Library on Wednesday and another on Newton Street.

A Bouscay Avenue resident reported his bicycle was missing Wednesday.

A Milan Avenue business customer reported someone threw a beer bottle onto her vehicle windshield Wednesday.

A Baker Street resident reported theft of a bicycle today.


A North U.S. 250 resident accused her unruly son of throwing and breaking a telephone Wednesday.

An area resident accused three male juvenile suspects of breaking into an old school building on West Ashtabula Street, North Fairfield, Wednesday through a window by the driveway "that had been entered before."

An area motorist reported the theft of two gas cans from the bed of his parked truck at a South U.S. 250 business Wednesday. Some tools were reported missing in connection with other vehicle break-ins.

A Scranton Road resident reported a dispute over an unwanted subject Wednesday.

A Zenobia Road, Wakeman, resident reported vehicle vandalism Wednesday.

A Zenobia Road, Wakeman, business employee reported damage to a vehicle Wednesday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from an area resident who requested deputies check on his Ohio 61, Plymouth, girlfriend who planned to harm herself Wednesday.

An East U.S. 224, Greenwich, resident reported the theft of a gasoline can and gas Wednesday.

An Center Street, New Haven, resident reported his new log splitter was missing Wednesday.

Dispatchers received several 9-1-1 calls about a North U.S. 250 domestic dispute Wednesday. Dispatchers sent North Central EMS after the complainant reported feeling faint during the third call.

A U.S. 224, Greenwich, resident reported there was a suspicious male suspect resting in front of his barn Wednesday.

A Smith Street, Willard, resident reported there was a four-wheeler driving on the road Wednesday.

An East Ashtabula Street, North Fairfield, resident reported a trespassing incident Wednesday.

Valerie A. Warren, 38, of 2968 Ohio 99, Willard, was arrested on two contempt of court warrants Wednesday. She is serving a 20-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Shane W. Brown, 33, of 2968 Ohio 99, Willard, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday and charged with failure to report to jail. He is serving a 30-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.
