Jaris P. Morrison, 16, of 2370 Geiger Road, Monroeville, was charged with failure to control Saturday after he attempted to turn right out of a Geiger Road private driveway, went off the right side and hit a utility pole.


Responded to an alarm activation related to a false signal from a duct smoke detector at 1:37 p.m. Monday at 50 Theater Ave. Returned to station at 2.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 1:55 p.m. at 49 W. Washington St. Returned to station at 2:03.


Janet L. Nebergall, 63, of 2441 S. U.S. 250, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Monday after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Ruth A. Reed, 62, of 705 Hettle Road, Willard, on North U.S. 250. That collision pushed Reed's car into the rear of the vehicle driven by Rebecca K. Griggs, 47, of 49 Parsons St. Both Reed and Griggs were slowing down for traffic before the crash. Reed reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

Jason J. Patterson, 22, whose address was unavailable, turned himself in on three warrants Monday. He was charged with petty theft stemming from the theft of gasoline and went to a Norwalk Municipal Court hearing.

Shaun A. Meagrow, 25, of 4690 Medusa Road, was arrested on two warrants Monday while visiting his probation officer and was charged with theft and forgery. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An Olde Village Road resident reported her 16-year-old son was missing since Monday afternoon, but is not suspected of being abducted.

Responded to the complaint of an underage drinking party Monday on Indian Terrace. Michael D. Dickman, 19, of 8 Indian Terrace, was charged with possession of marijuana. None of the subjects at the home showed signs of underage consumption.

Clayton A. Richardson, 22, of 15 1/2 E. Washburn St., New London, was arrested on a warrant Monday and charged with failure to report to jail and failure to provide proof of anger management counseling. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Bouscay Avenue resident reported the suspected theft of medication Monday. She noticed a bottle of generic Vicodin with 25 pills and a bottle of Lamicpal with about 30 pills were missing from her unlocked apartment after she took her sister to a doctor's appointment.

An East Main Street resident reported her purse was missing Monday.

Jacob W. McKenzie, 26, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on an undisclosed warrant Monday when he appeared in Norwalk Municipal Court.


Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 hang-up call Monday from Fitchville River Road, Wakeman. Dispatchers received no answer when they called back and suspected it was a telephone problem.

A South Ohio 103, Willard, resident reported domestic violence Monday.

A complaint of someone trespassing and digging Monday on Section Line Road 30, Bellevue, ended up being state department workers.

Residents on: South Ohio 99, Willard; Butler Road, New London; and En Road, Norwalk, reported telephone harassment Monday.

An area resident requested a deputy check on the well-being of two juveniles on Jericho Road on Monday.

An Ohio 99, Willard, resident reported two juveniles were walking in the road Monday.
