Zachary D. Moomey, 21, of 5571 U.S. 20, Wakeman, was charged with failure to control June 21 after he went off the left side of Old Ohio 18 near a curve and hit a ditch and some trees. One of Moomey's relatives took his passenger, Jenna J. Terlizzi, 18, of 5180 U.S. 20, Wakeman, to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries. She was treated and released.


Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 2:23 a.m. Wednesday at 103 Jefferson St. Returned to station at 2:43.

Extinguished a mulch fire started by a discarded cigarette at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday at the rear of 223 Milan Ave. Returned to station at 4:30.

Extinguished several small fires at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in a wheat stubble field at 940 Fair Road. Firefighters stood by for the fireworks display. Returned to station at 11:30.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 12:03 a.m. today at 146 Concord Court. Returned to station at 12:08.


Katherine R. Schaffer, 19, whose address was unavailable, was charged in connection with a hit-skip accident Wednesday. Police also arrested two other female juveniles on undisclosed charges.

A Milan Avenue resident reported the theft of her Ohio temporary tag from her vehicle Wednesday.

Responded to a Granny Smith Street disturbance Wednesday where the suspect Alain S. Hubbard, 20, of 8 Granny Smith St., was going through drug withdrawals. He was arrested on a warrant and charged with failure to appear on a driving with a suspended license charge. Hubbard currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Steven R. Herner, 48, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday and taken into protective custody "due to his highly intoxicated state." A North Central EMS employee had advised police of Herner's behavior while walking north on Milan Avenue.

Ronald W. Grosswiler Jr., 49, whose address was unavailable, charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Milan Avenue incident Wednesday.

A Jackson Street resident reported the theft of his American flag Wednesday. Police earlier responded to the report from a Parsons Street resident who found a different flag and broken plastic lawn ornament in his front yard.

A Whittlesey Avenue resident reported the theft of $150 from her purse which was hidden in the second drawer of her dresser Wednesday. There was no sign of forced entry. The incident remains under investigation.

Abigail M. Moore, 14, of Mansfield, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Wednesday after she hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Pamela I. Parlett, 36, of 31F Bouscay Ave., on East League Street at Whittlesey Avenue.

The Sandusky Police Department discovered Daniel Hall, 41, whose address was unavailable, on two local contempt of court warrants today after he was charged with public intoxication. The original charges were driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence.


The Bucyrus Police Department requested a deputy speak to an Old Military Road, Willard, resident who took some items belonging to a cable TV company back to Bucyrus on Tuesday.

Charity J. Thorley, 30, of Monroeville, was arrested on a Lorain County Sheriff's Office contempt of court warrant Tuesday. She was transferred to a Lorain County sheriff's deputy.
