An Ohio Department of Transportation mower kicked up an item May 17 which hit the vehicle driven by Christopher M. Dannemiller, 21, of 912 Armstrong Drive, Willard, who was heading south on Interstate 75 in Orange Township.

No citation was issued immediately after the collision Saturday between the vehicles driven by David M. Evanich, 56, of 15 Hickory St., and Robert M. Odell, 36, of 6646 Zenobia Road, on Ohio 18. Two traffic controllers flagged each driver to proceed eastbound out of different raceway parking lots.

Kenneth Z. Immon, 20, of 3234 New State Road, Willard, hit a deer Wednesday on Townline Road 12.

Beverly K. Roberts, 51, of 78 Townline Road 79, New London, hit two deer Thursday on Fitchville River Road.


Responded to a mulch fire at 2:52 p.m. Thursday at 25 E. Monroe St. which was extinguished by a passerby before firefighters arrived. Returned to station at 3.

Responded to a second mulch fire at 5:02 p.m. Thursday at a different location at 25 E. Monroe St. started by a discarded cigarette. Returned to station at 5:13.

Assisted North Central EMS with lifting a patient at 6:07 p.m. Thursday at 26 Spring St. Returned to station at 6:29.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 3:17 a.m. today at 520 Milan Ave. Returned to station at 3:45.


Heath L. Moltz, 31, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Benedict Avenue business incident Thursday and was released to his sister.

Responded to Oak Street where a suspicious male suspect was accused of approaching two male residents Thursday. The suspect, whose personal information was unavailable, was located at a nearby home and charged with underage consumption.

Keith A. Wilhelm, 19, of 12 Minard Place, was arrested and charged with underage consumption in connection with an incident Thursday at the intersection of West League and Reed streets. Wilhelm, who is on intensive probation supervision through Huron County Common Pleas Court, is currently in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Chelsa R. Mundy, 30, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on an undisclosed Tiffin Municipal Court warrant Thursday and turned over to a Tiffin officer.

Laurie A. Rosenkrantz, 44, of Oberlin, was arrested on two warrants Thursday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. She is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Shot a squirrel Thursday that attacked a child and his grandmother on East Elm Street. The squirrel, found on the first branch of a tree outside of the house, looked sick, could not move very fast and was not scared of the officer's presence.


An area resident reported a private property accident at an Ohio 18 business Wednesday.

Melissa M. Collins, 28, of 209 N. Conwell Ave., Willard, was arrested on a Huron County Common Pleas Court warrant Thursday and charged with violating her probation. She currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A Townline Road 12, Willard, resident accused a prowler of throwing rocks at her Thursday.

An area motorist reported there were five or six cows on Scranton Road, west of Hartland Center Road on Thursday.

The Mansfield Police Department reported having Matthew Reed, 32, of Mansfield, in custody on a local warrant Thursday. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A DeRussey Road, Collins, resident reported a motorist did donuts in her field Thursday.

A Snyder Road, Willard, resident reported his medication was missing from his garage after he left the door open Thursday.

An area motorist accused someone of shooting a weapon from the back of a pickup truck in a Section Line Road 30, Willard, field Thursday.

A Fitchville River Road, New London, resident reported a trespassing incident involving four-wheelers Thursday.

An Elm Street, New London, resident reported receiving threatening telephone calls Thursday.
