Sara M. Eicher, 24, of 177 Tucker St., Norwalk, was charged with driving under the influence in connection with having a .153 blood alcohol content level during a May 10 traffic stop on Surrey Court. The Norwalk Police Department had advised officers Eicher left Norwalk after consuming alcohol with three children in her vehicle. Police forwarded a report to the Norwalk Law Director's office for the consideration of charging her with endangering children.

Christopher A. Odell, 24, of 200E Steeple Chase Ave., Bellevue, was charged with an open container violation in connection with a traffic stop Sunday on U.S. 20. His passenger, Luen A. Pena, 35, of the same address, was charged with failure to wear a seatbelt.


Found no problems during a carbon monoxide investigation at 10:03 a.m. Monday at 3 N. Garfield St. Firefighters suggested the homeowner buy a new detector. Returned to station at 10:25.

Responded to and extinguished a small fire in some rubbish, trash and downed timber at 5:13 p.m. Monday at 520 Milan Ave. Firefighters asked residents to tell police if they see juveniles playing in the woods because it is the second fire in a week in that area. Returned to station at 6:30.

Responded to 26 Spring St. to assist North Central EMS with an unresponsive patient who later refused treatment at 11:12 p.m. Monday. Returned to station at 11:20.

Responded to a small fire involving two landscape timber at 1:59 a.m. today on the garage floor of 92 Wooster St. Firefighters moved the fire debris outside and thoroughly rinsed it down. Returned to station at 2:13.

Responded to a false fire alarm activation at 5:04 a.m. today at 208 Republic St. Returned to station at 5:33.


Brandon M. Leslie, 18, of 61 Hasbrock Road, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Monday in a four-car chain reaction collision Monday on Norwood Avenue near St. Clair Street. The other three vehicles were stopped, waiting for a stopped school bus that was letting off students.

Sean A. Goble, 23, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on a Huron Municipal Court warrant Monday during a Benedict Avenue traffic stop for an equipment violation. He was arrested, charged with contempt of court and turned over to an Erie County sheriff's deputy.

A Bouscay Avenue resident reported losing her cell phone Monday.

The manager of a Milan Avenue fast food restaurant reported a dispute between two customers Monday.

The Lakewood Police Department reported having Darlene Anderson, 48, of 18B Ontario St., on three local warrants. She was charged with failure to pay fines and costs. Anderson currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A Bank Street resident reported turned in a used syringe she found in her driveway Monday, where children often play.

Responded with the Norwalk Fire Department to a fire behind the woods of a Milan Avenue mobile home Monday. An officer returned later in response to two boys accused of "huffing" refrigerant from a central air conditioning unit. Police determined during an investigation that one of the boys was responsible for setting the fire. Both boys were taken into custody and released to their parents.

Richard N. Peterson, 25, of 230 Whittlesey Ave., was arrested Monday on six warrants and charged with contempt of court, passing bad checks and failure to pay fines and costs. One of the warrants, through, Huron County Juvenile Court, was a probation violation charge. Peterson currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area resident reported her Motorola Razor cell phone was missing or stolen Monday.

Responded to a shoplifting complaint at a Whittlesey Avenue business Monday. Loria L. Sorg, 44, whose address was unavailable, was charged with trespassing and attempted theft.

Responded to a private property accident at a West Main Street business Monday. The driver said her brakes failed to engage and her blue Plymouth Acclaim hit a red pole, causing the driver's side air bag to deploy.


A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported the theft of a vehicle Monday.

Checked on the well-being of residents on Seminary Road after dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call Monday from a disconnected number originating from that address. Nobody was there when the deputy arrived.

An area resident reported someone turned around her son's headstone so that it was facing backward as of Monday at the Fairfield Township Cemetery.

Responded to an alarm activation at a U.S. 20 business Monday, where the door was unlocked and someone was there to pay his union dues.

An Ohio 18 resident reported a motorist accused her of stealing tractors Monday and the motorist reportedly threatened her.

The Willard Police Department reported having Paul E. Cole, 47, of 4258 Broad St., Willard, in custody on a warrant Monday. He was charged with failure to report to jail on a disorderly conduct conviction. Cole is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A South Old State Road, Willard, resident reported a trespassing incident Monday.

A Hartland Center Road, Collins, resident reported someone was trespassing on a dirt bike Monday.

An area resident reported being bitten by a beagle Monday on Carroll Road, Collins.

The Greenwich Police Department reported having a 15-year-old Willard girl in custody on an undisclosed warrant Monday.
