Notified the Huron County Sheriff's Office about the owner of 81 S. Old State Road about burning trash in a burn barrel, which firefighters extinguished at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters had warned the owner Saturday to not use the burn barrel, which the stepson said he would get rid of. Returned to station at 9:37.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday at 43 1/2 St. Mary's St. Returned to station at 11:25.

Charged a 14-year-old juvenile male suspect with shoplifting in connection with a Cleveland Road business incident Tuesday.

A North West Street resident reported his passenger side rear mirror was broken after an estranged relative used his car Tuesday.

The facilities and safety director of Fisher-Titus Medical Center reported a secretary allowed a male suspect with a cart full of pictures through the security door of the admitting area Tuesday and the man attempted to sell the pictures at three nurses' stations. A maintenance worker escorted the man out of the building.

Responded to a disorderly and disruptive male student Tuesday at Norwalk High School. After being brought to the station, the boy refused to speak to an officer about the original incident and was released to his mother.

An area resident reported a silver and yellow Next Turbo bicycle was abandoned Tuesday on Bouscay Avenue.

A Baker Street resident reported finding a prescription bottle with several different white pills in his yard while he was mowing Tuesday.

Robert A. Strader, 52, of 23 Newton St., Apt. 8D, was arrested on five warrants Tuesday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs on various original charges. An officer found a baggie of marijuana in his shirt pocket during the arrest procedures and charged him with possession of marijuana. Strader currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Responded to Firelands Boulevard where a resident threatened to kill her mother and herself Tuesday. North Central EMS transported the patient to Fisher-Titus Medical Center , where she attempted to leave the emergency room but was stopped in the ambulance bay. Authorities talked her into coming back inside to await treatment.

The Mansfield Police Department reported having Kenneth E. Marietta, 32, whose address was unavailable, in custody on a local warrant Tuesday. He was charged with a probation violation in connection with failing to pay restitution and released after posting bond.

Jerome J. Leto Jr., 46, and Gail Leto, 41, whose addresses were unavailable, were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Woodlawn Avenue domestic dispute Tuesday.


Advised of a theft complaint somewhere in New London on Tuesday.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation at a U.S. 20, Monroeville, business Tuesday.

The Norwalk Fire Department requested a deputy meet firefighters on South Old State Road in response to a burning complaint Tuesday.

A South Main Street, North Fairfield, resident reported a bad check complaint Tuesday.

Amanda M. McDonald, 27, of 4235 Broad St., Willard, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday and charged with failure to report to jail. She is serving a 37-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

An Ohio 601 resident accused someone of stealing her mail and checks Tuesday.

A Georgia resident accused an Old State Road relative of putting her name on some utilities without her permission, which she had canceled as of Tuesday. The complainant also had reported the complaint to her local police department.

A Hasbrock Road resident reported seeing a suspicious man and woman walking along the ditch line Tuesday between Old and New State roads.

A Cook Road, New London, resident reported finding a 19-year-old male suspect in her foster daughter's room Tuesday.
