Thomas A. Beran, 43, of Amherst, was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign Tuesday in the collision with the vehicle driven by Gloria A. Parker, 75, of 3040 S. Ohio 60, Wakeman, at the intersection of Ohio 60 and Ohio 303.

Stacey M. Calame, 23, of 2495 U.S. 224, Greenwich, hit a deer Tuesday on New State Road.


Assisted North Central EMS with lifting a patient at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday at 13 1/2 Norwood Ave. Returned to station at 5:15.


An area resident reported the theft of his 1994 Dodge Intrepid from a Prospect Street business parking lot Monday.

Assisted the Huron Police Department in conducting "a multi-jurisdictional warrant sweep" Wednesday, which led to the arrests of Teddilee C. Yates, 31, Edward T. Gibson, 30, and Bruce R. Harp, 34, whose addresses weren't available, on various undisclosed charges without incident. Several other unspecified suspects posted bond.

Charles R. Gast, 27, of Sandusky, was arrested on two local contempt of court warrants Wednesday at the Erie County Jail. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a man being assaulted Wednesday on State Street by a male suspect in a black shirt and another wearing a white shirt who left the scene. Four officers responded, but were unable to find the suspects.

Dispatchers were advised of a female juvenile who was bit by a dog Wednesday near Milan Avenue and Union Street. The girl went to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries.


An area resident requested a deputy check on the well-being of a North U.S. 250 resident suspected of taking pills Wednesday.

Notified the CSX Railroad about a train stopped on Boughtonville Road, Greenwich, for 30 minutes Wednesday.

An Ohio 547, Bellevue, resident reported text message harassment Wednesday.

An employee of Western Reserve High School reported a fight between two students Wednesday.

An Ohio 18, Wakeman, resident reported the theft of a military aircraft fuel tank Wednesday.

A Peru Center, Monroeville, resident accused someone of shooting an automatic weapon at the river bottom behind her property Wednesday.

A Rome Greenwich Road, Greenwich, resident reported a four-wheeler was hidden in the weeds and grass Wednesday. A 15-year-old juvenile later took possession.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about four juveniles accused of causing a disturbance involving a dirt bike Wednesday.
