Larry J. Willgrube, 34, of 2017 S. Main St., Milan, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Wednesday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Judy L. Lykins, 39, of 4960 Ohio 601, at the Ohio 61 red light with the intersection of Ohio 601. That collision pushed Lykins' car into the rear of the minivan driven by Carol L. Young, 47, of 64 Harris Ave., who reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.


Assisted North Central EMS with getting a patient out of 61 W. Willard Avenue and into an ambulance at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday. Returned to station at 1:34.


Meredith J. Terry, 21, of 22 N. Pleasant St., was charged with failure to control Wednesday after she went off the right side of West Main Street onto North Pleasant Street and hit a utility pole.

John J. Kerper, 41, of 156 Fairway Circle, was arrested and charged with domestic violence Wednesday after an officer interviewed the victim at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. He was cited and released.

Two North West Street residents reported the theft of $5 in change, cigarettes and a Cobra radar detector from their two unlocked vehicles Wednesday.

A Manahan Avenue resident reported the theft of his maroon Next bicycle Wednesday.

A Rosedale Boulevard resident reported the theft of his Pioneer stereo from his locked car Wednesday.

A South Linwood Avenue resident reported the theft of three speakers, two amplifiers, a compact disc changer and flashlight from his truck Wednesday.

Arrested a 15-year-old State Street boy and Nathan Loudy, 18, of 64 N. Hester St., and charged them with theft in connection with a witness accusing them of running north on State Street from West League Street with what appeared to be a car stereo Wednesday.

Jeffrey B. Jones, 41, of 27 Summit St., was arrested on an Erie County Common Pleas Court warrant today and charged with possession of cocaine. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in connection with an officer finding a red marijuana pipe on his couch. Jones was turned over to the Erie County Sheriff's Office.


A Boughtonville Road resident reported the lock on his gas tank was cut Sunday night and said it had been cut about two weeks ago. The resident also reported undisclosed damage to his barn and driveway.

Dispatchers were advised of alarm activations Wednesday at: the North Fairfield Library; a Young Road, Bellevue, business; and a U.S. 20, Monroeville, business.

Dispatchers advised the Wakeman Police Department, Wakeman Fire District and a deputy about a propane tank leaking Wednesday on East U.S. 20, Wakeman.

Erie County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Sigsworth requested a deputy check Linwood Avenue for a female suspect wanted on multiple counts of theft and forgery through Erie County on Wednesday.

The Bellevue Police Department reported having Jean Boehler, 34, of 620 W. Main St., No. 24, Bellevue, in custody on a Huron County Common Pleas Court warrant Wednesday. She was charged with non-support of dependents and currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A Kirkwood Drive, Willard, resident reported the theft of lumber Wednesday.

The New London Police Department reported having Jason R. Wolford, 22, of Ashland, in custody on a local warrant Wednesday. He was charged with failure to report to jail and is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Huron County Juvenile Court probation officer requested the Erie County Sheriff's Office arrest Alyssa Gough, 18, of 126 N. West St., on a juvenile court warrant Wednesday. She was charged with failure to appear on an underage consumption charge. Gough currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
