No citation was issued Feb. 16 immediately after Richard E. Stegman Jr., 50, of 408 W. Main St., Bellevue, failed to yield to a train while he was heading north on Sandhill Road. His sport utility vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned. A medical helicopter flew Stegman to the Medical University of Ohio Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries.

Rodney A. Walliser, 45, of 15 Christie Ave., was charged with failure to control Wednesday after he went off the right side of Ridge Road, then left of center, off the left side and hit a concrete barrier. He took a blood alcohol test, but the results were not available.

Bradley M. Trembley, 44, of 5783 Cook Road, Wakeman, hit and killed a dog Wednesday at the intersection of Chenango and Fayette roads.

Bethany R. Chine, 26, of 1411 New State Road, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Thursday after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Patrick K. Kelly, 52, of Sandusky, who was stopped for train on U.S. 250.


Responded to a carbon monoxide detector with a low battery at 12:41 a.m. today at 17 Crestwood Drive. Returned to station at 12:55.


A West Main Street resident reported finding several pieces of her mail opened Thursday when she returned home after a few days and suspected identity fraud.

Tracy L. Doster, 40, of Columbus, was arrested on four local warrants Thursday at the Noble Correctional Facility and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

An East Main Street resident reported her son was being unruly Thursday.

Responded to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for a homeless couple who wanted to see a mental health professional for undisclosed reasons Thursday.

Mark A. Noller Jr., 31, of 204 Bryan Road, was arrested and charged with theft in connection with a shoplifting incident at a Cline Street business Thursday. He also was served with three contempt of court warrants on various original charges of disorderly conduct. Noller currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Jorge A. Martinez, 27, of 22B Ontario St., was arrested and charged with assault in connection with a Milan Avenue incident Thursday. He was released after posting bond.

Jodi M. Eagle, 33, of 15 Old State Road, was issued a summons today and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Benedict Avenue business incident. She was released to a sober person.


Dispatchers sent two deputies and North Central EMS to a Benedict Avenue business after the Norwalk Police Department requested undisclosed assistance Thursday.

Dispatchers received two 9-1-1 calls about a domestic dispute Thursday on Niver Road, Willard.

Dispatchers were advised of alarm activations Thursday on Ohio 601, Norwalk, and Lamar Court, Willard.

An area motorist reported a train blocked the Edwards Road, Greenwich, railroad crossing for about 10 minutes Thursday.

A Townline Road 131, Willard, resident reported an assault Thursday.

A Pleasant Street, Willard, resident reported a breaking and entering incident Thursday.

An employee of a North U.S. 250 business reported a theft Thursday.

A Cook Road, New London, reported a boy who was not dressed properly for the weather came to his home and admitted to running away from his foster mother Thursday.

A Crescent Road, Greenwich, resident reported losing her Verizon cell phone Thursday.

An area motorist reported finding a set of five keys Thursday in the intersection of Court and Jericho roads.

A Boughtonville Road, Willard, resident reported a boy did not return home from school Thursday.

A New State Road resident reported receiving an obscene text message on his cell phone Thursday.

Responded a tip about an Ohio 162, North Fairfield, resident accused of "leaving her minor children unattended while she was gone drinking (or) doing drugs" Thursday.
