Lisa C. Lebrun, 44, of 2874 Ohio 103 E., Willard, was charged with failure to control Wednesday after she lost control while turning left onto Baseline Road from New State Road and hit the left side of the vehicle driven by James R. Eakins, 69, of Shelby, who was heading west on Baseline Road.

Stanley J. Reid Jr., 18, of 280 Townline Road 12, North Fairfield, was charged with failure to control Wednesday after he failed to stop for a Townline Road 12 stop sign, slid through the intersection and hit a guardrail on Rome Greenwich Road.

Devin M. Jones, 17, of 230 Whittlesey Ave., Lot 24, was charged with failure to control Wednesday after he went over the U.S. 250 railroad tracks in Fitchville Township going 55 mph, went off the left side of the road and hit a guy wire.

Edward J. Stang, 37, of Elyria, hit a deer Thursday on U.S. 20.


Responded to a smoke detector going off without smoke at 9:11 a.m. Thursday at 11 N. Garfield St. Firefighters couldn't find a problem and advised the owner to change the batteries. Returned to station at 9:30.

Responded to a broken sewage line at 9:17 a.m. Thursday at 80 St. Mary's St. Returned to station at 9:42.

Performed a smoke detector investigation at 10:58 a.m. Thursday at 6 Fox Run. Water from a washing machine that overflowed reached the detector and caused the alarm. Returned to station at 11:06.

Assisted North Central EMS with a possible heart attack patient at 12:53 p.m. Thursday at 30 Grand Ave. Returned to station at 1:15.

Assisted North Central EMS with a male patient having chest pains at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at 117 S. Linwood Ave. Returned to station at 4:45.


A Westwind Drive couple accused a Kansas City, Mo. resident of providing false flight information about a Yorkshire terrier dog they purchased from the suspect using a $400 money gram. The residents said when they confronted the suspect through several e-mail correspondences about the flight, the person failed to contact them.

Dispatchers with the Huron County Sheriff's Office sent North Central EMS to an East Main Street resident in response to a resident finding a relative deceased Thursday.

Had an abandoned Pontiac Grand Prix, which belongs to a Cline Street resident, towed from West Elm Street on Thursday. An officer had issued a 24-hour parking violation Monday.

Traci C. Carrick, 39, of 6 Hickory St., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct today in connection with a domestic dispute. She was held at the city jail until sober. Officers later contacted North Central EMS to have Carrick transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center after she "began acting very strangely" and admitted to taking an "excessive amount of Vicodin along with consuming copious amounts of alcohol."


An employee of a North U.S. 250 business reported seeing someone beside a next door business building near the gas pumps Thursday. A deputy determined an employee's truck wouldn't start and was waiting for a ride.

The Toledo Police Department reported having Antonia L. Chavarria, 26, of 55A Grove Ave., in custody on an undisclosed Huron County Common Pleas Court warrant. She was transported to the Lucas County Jail, awaiting extradition to this county.

An area resident requested a deputy check on the well-being of a DeRussey Road, Collins, resident whom she suspected might not have water Thursday.

The New London Police Department reported having Steven Goetz, 47, of 108 E. Main St., North Fairfield, in custody on two warrants Thursday. He was charged with failure to report to jail on the original charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Goetz is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported being assaulted Thursday.

A South Ohio 99, Willard, resident requested assistance getting inside where the complainant's grandmother was lying on the floor Thursday.
