The Huron County Commissioners are weighing a request to provide an additional $5,000 to the Ohio State Extension office for the county's 4-H program.
The funding is needed to help pay the salary of the 4-H program assistant, said Deb Angell, executive director of the OSU Extension office, which runs the 4-H program. The position is part-time, 20 hours, and is funded mostly through fees from the county's juvenille traffic offenders program.
