Greenwich UMC

GREENWICH The Greenwich United Methodist Church will host a breakfast with the Bill Babione Missionary Family at 9 a.m. today at the church, 18 E. Main St. Bill and Wini will share their missionary experience in Albania. Breakfast is free, but love offerings will be accepted for the couple.

Delphi UMC

DELPHI The Delphi Community ice cream social will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Delphi United Methodist Church, the corner of U.S. 224 and New State Road. Sandwiches, salads, pies and ice cream will be available at the event, which is free to the public. Area artists will perform Gospel music and love offerings for the community food pantry will be accepted.

St. Paul Episcopal

This church is hosting an ice cream social from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday on the front lawn of the church at 87 W. Main St. There will be a late lunch, early dinner, or mid-afternoon treat in addition to ice cream, hamburgers, hotdogs, side dishes and desserts will be served.

There will be games, music on the magnificent Kimball pipe organ installed in 1915, and free tours of the historic West Main Street neighborhood given by the Firelands Historical Society at 4 p.m.

At 11:15 a.m. Friday, there will be a service at Twilight Gardens.

Wakeman Congregational

WAKEMAN Pastor Joe Todd will lead the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, church, 14 Abbott St.. Adult Sunday school class will meet at 8:30 a.m.

Mark your calendars for the eighth annual talent and service auction to be held Sept. 22 on the church grounds. The auction will include collectibles, handcrafted items, 'themed' baskets, tools and a variety of special talents and services. First United Methodist, Norwalk

The church still is accepting reservations for participants in its fifth annual golf outing scheduled for Sept. 8 at Woussickett Golf Course in Sandusky. Proceeds will go to the maintenance of the historic church building at 60 W. Main St. The golf scramble will begin at 1 p.m. Dinner will be at Norwalk First United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in playing can call the church office at (419) 668-1938. STEUBEN Sunday is the 13th Sunday after Pentecost. The scripture lessons, based on the theme "Out of the Shadow," are Jeremiah 1:4-10, Psalm 71:1-6,Hebrews 12:18-29, and Luke 13:10-17. The Rev. Patricia E. Welch, pastor and teacher, will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service. Large print bulletins will be available.

St. Paul Catholic, Norwalk

Children's Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at 9 a.m. and Spanish Mass at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

MOMS Ministry of Mothers Sharing is a six-week program helping mothers of all ages grow spiritually. They will meet from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Fridays in the St. Paul Parish Center on Sept. 14, 21, 28 and Oct. 5, 19 and 26. Child care is available. Fee is $20 for materials. Register by Friday.

PSR Registration will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul gathering space. Registration forms have been mailed to all families who attended classes last year. If you need a form, pick one up at the parish office. If you cannot attend registration in person, return your form to the parish office in an envelope marked "PSR Registration" by Wednesday. Upcoming dates for the three-part parent baptism series are Tuesdays: Sept. 4, 11 and 18. Parents are encouraged to participate in the sessions early in their pregnancy. To arrange for the sessions and the baptism of your child call Marian Bermudez at the parish office at (419) 668-6044.

Norwalk Church of Christ

The 10:30 a.m. Sunday lesson will be about "The Importance of Community." The 6 p.m. Sunday service will be a song service. The church has Bible studies for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. For details visit norwalkchurch.org.

St. Mary/St. Anthony

An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will take place at St. Anthony from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 1. Cost is $5 and includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee and milk.

Signup for PSR classes is now taking place. To register, call Linda Salmons at (419) 588-2601. Registration forms are also available at the back of either parish. Classes start Sept. 23.

Reigning Word Fellowship

This church will feature a sermon a "Childlike Faith" at the 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday services.
