Steuben UCC

STEUBEN Sunday is the ninth Sunday after Pentecost. The scripture lessons, based on the theme "Prayerful Disciples," are Hosea 1:2-10; Psalm 85; Colossians 2:6-15, (16-19); and Luke 11:1-13. The Rev. Patricia E. Welch, pastor and teacher, will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service. Large print bulletins will be available.

St. Paul Catholic, Norwalk

This church will celebrate Spanish Mass at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The St. Paul Festival will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. Aug. 4 and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 5.

First United Methodist, Norwalk

Dr. Roger Smith is offering a Bible study in August called "Unwrapping the Gifts." It will take place every Wednesday in August with the exception of Aug. 15. Selected scriptures are 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 14, Romans 12 and Ephesians 4.

Look for the "Faith Finders" booth at the Huron County Fair Aug. 13 to 17.

First Baptist, Norwalk

This church, located at 67 E. Main St., will have a Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6 to 10. This year's theme is "Avalanche Ranch A Wild Ride Through God's Word." All children preschool through fifth grade are invited. Call the church office at (419) 668-4144 to register.

Local revival

WILLARD A homecoming revival will take place from Aug. 3 to 5 at the Guinea Corner Church of God at the corner of Ohio 61 and 103. The event will be at 7 p.m. daily with Evangelist Doug Auxier of Salyersville, Ky.

Wakeman Congregational

WAKEMAN This church, located at 14 Abbott St., will have a chicken barbecue from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 3 to 11, with those under 3 free. Carryouts will be available.

All proceeds will go to the pavilion fund. The pavilion is under construction at the present time. When finished, it will be available for community use. For details call (440) 839-2781.

Fitchville UMC

FITCHVILLE Vacation Bible School is slated for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. The theme this year is "Basic Training at Boot Camp for Jesus."

The mission this year is camouflaged Bibles for the military overseas and safe house supplies for local abused children.

The Vacation Bible School will close with a tribute at the 9 a.m. Aug. 5 service that will honor all area military.

St. Joseph/St. Alphonsus

At the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, St. Joseph and St. Alphonsus parishes will celebrate the third annual Lollapalooza (parish picnic) at St. Alphonsus. The 8:30 a.m. Mass will be at St. Joseph this week.

Norwalk Church of Christ

Guest evangelist Randy Yerby will be the featured speaker at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. The 6 p.m. Sunday service will feature Ethan Longhenry as he continues his examination into the churches of the New Testament by looking at the churches of Galatia.

The church has Bible studies for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. The church encourages fair-goers to visit the church booth at the Huron County Fair.
