NEW LONDON The New London United Methodist Church will offer an Italian dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The cost will be $8.50 for adults, with children 15 and younger free.
The church's two free monthly soup and sandwich suppers will be presented from 4:30 to 6 p.m. this Thursday and next Thursday.

During worship, Steuben church will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the "birth" of the United Church of Christ. On June 25, 1957, Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church merged into a new denomination. NORTH FAIRFIELD This church will hold its "Summer Fling" for teenagers at 6 p.m. today at the gym at the old school building. There will be volleyball, games and pizza. The special speaker will be Jeff Griffith, of Lebanon, Pa.
At 10 a.m. Sunday, Griffith will be speaking to the teenagers and adult Sunday school class. He will also speak at the 11 a.m. worship service.
First Presbyterian, Norwalk
This Sunday during the 9:30 morning worship service, the Rev. Adrian Doll will continue in the ongoing sermon series, "Proverbs: Ancient Wisdom for Living Today."
The church invites children throughout the community to attend this year's Vacation Bible School, "Take the Plunge." The summer adventure will run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. This church is prepping for Thunder in the Streets with a "Team Alliance" weekend. Local racers and Jr. Dragsters will have their cars on display. Shaunda Edwards will be recruiting volunteers to work at Thunder in the Streets, with special emphasis being placed on being involved in the upcoming racing event. The Rev. Bruce Rzengota will be preaching the message "Honoring the Call" at both the 9 and 10:45 a.m. services.
Cliff Glenn, the new summer children's ministry intern, will begin his ministry leading a new children's program focusing on the fruit of the spirit during both services.
