Steuben UCC

STEUBEN Sunday is the sixth Sunday after Epiphany. The scripture lessons, based on the theme "Surprising Teaching," are Jeremiah 17:5-10, Psalm 1, 1 Corinthians 15:12-20, and Luke 6:17-26. The Rev. Patricia E. Welch, pastor and teacher, will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service. Large print and children's bulletins will be available.


NEW LONDON This church is hosting a rummage sale May 4 and 5, so if you are sorting through clothes or household items and wonder where to donate them, consider setting them aside for this event.

First United Methodist, Norwalk

United Methodist Men meet at 8:15 a.m. Sunday at this church, located at 60 W. Main St.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. and worship is at 10:30. Sermon Title is "Morning to Morning" in the Moses series. Second Sunday singles luncheon will be after worship. Love Circle meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Blood pressure checks will be Feb. 18 after worship.

Norwalk Church of Christ

Sunday will feature lessons regarding the Parable of the Sower: The church will investigate the seed on the road at 10:30 a.m. and the seed cast on the rocky soil at 6 p.m.

Clarksfield UMC

CLARKSFIELD This church, located at 5151 Zenobia Road, will have services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Patty Jo Sheldon's sermon will be "Hope Comes to us through the Spirit of the Lord."

There will be a cabbage-roll dinner sponsored by the church youth group from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17. The dinner will be family-style with homemade desserts. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 10 and under with children 3 and under free. Carryouts will be available. All proceeds will benefit youth activities. St. Paul Episcopal, Norwalk

This church's worship and Sunday school continue at 8:30 a.m. The vestry will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a service of holy communion will be celebrated at Twilight Gradens at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

New Covenant Lighthouse

Holy Trinity Anglican, Milan

MILAN This church, located at 1608 Ohio 113, will have its Valentine's dinner at 6 p.m. today. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. St. Mary/St. Anthony

This week's adult faith formation topic will be Lent a time of preparation. The group meets at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony.

The annual St. Mary/St. Anthony parish mission will begin next weekend. Rev. Ron Camarda will speak at the Masses in both parishes, with the mission being from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 18 and 19. and also from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at St. Mary.

Norwalk Alliance

This church has a divorce/recovery workshop at 7 p.m. Thursdays.

High school youth group meets at 6:30 p.m. Sunday while middle school youth meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

First Presbyterian, Norwalk

During the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service, the new class of elders and deacons will be ordained and installed. Rev. Adrian Doll will continue in the ongoing sermons series, "Acts for Living." Special music will be presented by the Westminster Voices and the sacrament of communion will be observed.

During the 9:30 hour, Gretchen Hester will lead the new adult class, "Don't Sing Songs to a Heavy Heart" at the Great Room.

Plan now to attend the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20.

Lenten mid-week services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Ash Wednesday, Feb. 21 with a service of communion and will continue on Wednesdays through March 28.

Pastors Doll, Clair Brewer and invited guests will lead the Lenten study each week.

Congregational Community UCC

MONROEVILLE This church, located at 29 Chapel St., Monroeville, worships at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The theme is "Blessings and Woes" from Luke 6:17-26. Youth in grades seven to 12 are invited to the fellowship gathering from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Pizza will be served and those attending will discuss, "Who Is My Neighbor."

Fitchville UMC

FITCHVILLE This church is having its sixth annual talent and servant auction beginning with lunch and a preview at noon Feb. 24 followed by the auction at 1.

The event will be at the New London school cafetorium.
