The newly-founded events committee at Commercial Vehicle Group in Norwalk held a Halloween event Oct. 20 for the children and grandchildren of CVG employees. The party attracted about 60 children, along with their parents or grandparents to gather and mingle.
There were two clowns at the function who did magic tricks and made balloon animals for each child. There were stick-on tattoos, candy and prizes for best costumes. The event also included hot dogs, cookies, apple cider, hay rides and a pumpkin patch for the children to take a pumpkin of their choice.
Mike Phillips who is a long-term employee of CVG, provided the 20-minute hayrides.
The events committee consists of: Rick Chaffins, Kathy Kertis, Dan Burgess, Don Meister, Donna Seitz, Lisa Crider, Jamie Reer, Cindy Chaffee, and Vicki Lakner. It is run strictly by volunteers comprised of CVG employees. Events are conducted with money raised through the events committee.
The next event will be a children's Christmas party.
