Town and Country Garden Club
The Town and Country Garden Club of Norwalk will hold the dedication of The Blue Star Memorial honoring our military services at 2 p.m., Sept. 23 at Veterans Memorial Park, Shady Lane Drive, Norwalk.
This program was started back in 1944 by the National Garden Clubs, Inc. The Blue Star is taken from the Blue Star in the service flag. This was chosen to symbolize the memorial because it was used during the World War II on flags and in windows of homes of the families that had a son or daughter in the service. The local garden club has chosen this their project for the year.
The club will hold its annual October "Make and Bake Auction" with the proceeds going back to the community. Contact Dee Battista for information at (419) 668-4455 or (419) 706-2124.
