Breakfast prices increased for Norwalk pupils

Breakfast prices will be increasing to $1 for kindergarten through eighth grade and $1.25 for high schoolers. Lunch prices will stay the same.

The hikes were approved at this week's Norwalk City Schools board meeting.

In other news:

Alex Howe and Stephanie Rickel received the Senior of the Year awards. Laryssa Smith received the Principal's Award. Andrew Benson, Erica Bryant, Alex Howe, Jordan Maddocks, and Stephanie Rickel were all inducted into the Senior Hall of Excellence.

The district will soon seek bids for ceiling, roof, and asphalt work for the permanent improvement summer projects.

The board approved new handbooks, adding required lockdown procedures. The handbooks will also include drug awareness information from the school and city's drug prevention program, along with the ADAMhs board's Family Action Plan.

The district sold a modular unit to Norwalk Catholic Schools for $1.
