Busy Needles

The club's second meeting was held April 1 at the West Hartland United Methodist Church. The group elected officers: President Nichole Gillenwater; vice-president Steve Hahn; secretary Shelbey Linder; treasurer Nathan Myers; news reporter Justine White; health leader Emmy Linder; safety leader and recreation leader Taylor Brooks.

Under new business, club dues were discussed. A motion was passed to keep dues at $2 per member. A motion was passed to take $5 per member from the club treasury to pay the voluntary membership fee to the 4-H extension office.

Wakeman Blue Ribbon

This club met April 9 at the Wakeman Library. Thirteen members were present along with two guests. The Cloverbuds led the pledges to open the meeting.

The new officers began their duties at this meeting and are as follows: President Richard Bolden; vice president Mike Swan; secretary Brianna Hinckley; treasurer Ellis Standifer; news reporter Jessica Puder; recyclable officer Nathan King; health officer Mercedies Moser; recreation officers Roy Hinckley and Ashley Gore; safety officers Jacob Stewart and Cheyene Emery.

Under old business, project forms and health papers were collected. The club decided on the dues for this year which will be $5 per person.

Under new business, members discussed fundraisers. It was decided that they would sell cookie dough. All orders are to be turned in to Mrs. Bolden by May 7. The annual Bake Sale will be held again this year at 9 a.m. June 23 at Key Bank in Wakeman.

The annual trash pickup will be held again this year on June 2. Club members are to

meet at 10 a.m. at Vekas's house on Liles Road. Other dates announced included the adviser's conference on April 26 and the officer's conference on May 7 at the Norwalk Middle School.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. May 14 at the Wakeman Library.

Monroeville Fortune Finders

The fifth meeting was held April 21 at the home of Ellen Schwab. This was the annual roadside trash pickup day. Members, with the help of parents, picked up trash along rural roads south of Monroeville. After the trash pickup everyone enjoyed a potluck lunch.

Then a short meeting was held. Demonstrations were given by Amy and Eric Ruffing on how to wrap a present and Brett and Brandon Sparks on what to take on a camping trip.

At the business portion of the meeting, it was decided the club would donate a rabbit trophy to the fair again this year. The club will be actively helping with the lunch in the park following Monroeville's "Go To Church Sunday" this Sunday.

The next meeting is May 8 at St. Joseph's Social Center.

Lyme Clever Clovers

The club had its fourth meeting at Seybert Methodist Church April 17.

Jamie Savage gave the secretary's report. Jacklyn Scheid gave the treasurer's report.

The members talked about what to do for Easter balloon seal day. Members decided to pass out balloons at Basset's. Also, members talked about being in the parade for Memorial Day and Bellevue Community days.

Janet Scheid, adviser, passed out project books.

Jessica Savage gave a demonstration on woodburning. Jamie Savage gave a demonstration about digital photography.

Recreation was doing a word search about April.

The next meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Seybert Methodist church.

Wakeman Wranglers

The club's first meeting was held at the Wakeman Community Library.

At this time the club held election of new officers for the upcoming year. The new officers are as follows: President Chelsea Jackson; vice president Megan Canfield; secretary Tara Burke; treasurer Leah Burke; health leader Alexis Scott; safety leader Alexis Scott; recreation leader Megan Canfield; news reporter Sara Takacs; and recycling officer Katie Jackson.

Fundraising and ride nights were discussed.

New London Countyline Kids

The club met Wednesday at the New London Grange.

Election of officers took place They are as follows: President Taylor Amburgey; vice president Kevin Phillips; secretary Valerie Phillips; treasurer Nancy Mayer; news reporter Jon Shaw; activities Jacob Amburgey and Elizabeth Phillips.

All officers need to be present at 6:30 p.m., half an hour prior to the next meeting. Officer training will be from 7 to 8 p.m. May 7 at the Norwalk Middle School.

Most members received their books. Final project registration day is Tuesday.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. May 9 at the New London Grange. Members are to be thinking of fun things they would like to do during the summer meetings.

Hartland Scramblers

This club met April 12 at St. Peter Lutheran Church.

In new business, members picked other club members for the T-shirt fundraiser and community service committees. Members were told the next meeting would be the health meeting. Refreshments were served by the Smith family and Zane Liles. Snacks were then followed by cup stacking by the Millers.

The club will next meet at 6 p.m. Monday.
