If you've always wanted to visit Nashville, Tenn., but could never get around to it, consider this your motivation: Norwalk's own Jill James is one of five people who will perform this month at the Colgate Country Showdown at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Here's another motivator: The show will be hosted by LeAnn Rimes, who will also perform two songs from her latest CD, "This Woman," which includes the No. 1 single "Nothin' Bout Love Makes Sense," "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way," "Something's Gotta Give" and "Some People."
The annual Colgate Country Showdown is designed to find the most promising country music talent in America and to give these performers a chance to launch their professional music careers.
The Colgate Country Showdown begins each Spring with more than 450 local talent contests sponsored by country music radio stations throughout the United States. Winners advance to their respective state competitions held at leading fairs and expositions.
