Vonda S. Nyatti, 64, of 2915 U.S. 20, Collins, was charged with failure to control Tuesday after she went off the right side of U.S. 20 while heading west, hit a ditch and overturned. Citizens Ambulance transported her to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries.

Joshua M. Dorski, 17, of 5014 Ohio 601, was charged with going left of center Tuesday in the collision with the vehicle driven by Gerald F. Frisch Jr., 50, of 79 Clifton St., New London, on Ohio 601. Dorski's sport utility vehicle went off the right side of the road while Frisch's pickup truck went off the opposite side and hit a pole. Dorski was not transported for possible injuries.

Kristy L. Oddo, 19, of 1184 Section Line Road 30, Bellevue, hit a deer Thursday on Townline Road 12.


Kristin M. Kitchen, 23, of Vermilion, was served a warrant Thursday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs.

Sherri L. Sexton, 36, of Shelby, was arrested on a warrant Thursday and charged with contempt of court. Before her Norwalk Municipal Court hearing, a probation officer told Judge John Ridge he suspected Sexton was intoxicated. When Ridge questioned her during the contempt case, she admitted to being under the influence and immediately was sentenced to 10 days in the Huron County Jail.

A Woodlawn Avenue resident reported a red Snapper electric lawn mower was missing Thursday.

Jeremiah M. Bennett, 24, of 2708 Hartland Center Road, Collins, was arrested on a Norwalk Municipal Court warrant while he was at a Huron County Juvenile Court custody hearing Thursday. He was charged with failure to appear for a trial on the original charge of resisting arrest. Bennett pleaded no contest and was transported to the Huron County Jail to serve a 30-day sentence.

Charles A. Wise, 42, of 8 Third St., was served a warrant Thursday and charged with contempt of court.

A Jamie Way resident reported losing her blue Verizon cell phone in the last three to four days.

Brian A. Garcia, 23, of 280 Woodlawn Ave., was charged with driving with a suspended license Thursday during a traffic stop at the intersection of Schauss Avenue and St. Mary's Street. Police had his vehicle towed and seized his license plates as evidence.

An East Ashtabula Street, North Fairfield, resident reported the suspected violation of a court order over a domestic issue Thursday.

A Mill Street resident reported damage to two trash cans Thursday. Several garbage cans on Mill and East Main streets also had been run over and suspects had strewn trash around the area.
