Calling it “cozy and comfortable,” Emily Abazi said she and her husband, Elvir, are happy to be the newest addition to Main Street, Norwalk.
The owners of Executive Cleaners will move their business from 164 Milan Ave. to 72 E. Main St. — the former home of East of Chicago Pizza.
The business will close its doors on Milan Avenue for the final time at 2 p.m. Saturday then reopen at 7 a.m. Monday on Main Street. “We won’t be shut down at all,” Emily Abazi said. “It will be a busy weekend.
“We were on Milan Avenue for three years,” Abazi added. “Our main plant is in Sandusky and four years ago we opened a location in Port Clinton and three years (ago) we opened the location in Norwalk.”
The Abazis are purchasing the building on Main Street.
“We saw an opportunity to invest in a property we owned,” she said.
“That is much more appealing that renting. We really want to be uptown. We hope we have renovated it to our best of our abilities to keep it historically appealing as well as up to code.
“Cozy and comfortable ... We just hope it is more of a central location for the community. We have a fantastic parking lot which we hope serves our customers well,” Abazi said.
The business will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It is closed Sunday.
Abazi pointed out three reasons for the move — location, location, location.
“I definitely think there will be more foot traffic,” she said. “We certainly will be in the center of it all. (U.S.) 250 was a good location, but the speed was a little faster paced. On Main Street we have a light right there (at Foster Street).
“It was a good location, but we both like the feel of uptown Norwalk. It feels better. We like supporting local businesses,” she said.
The new location will have a drive-up patio door.
“It will be covered so our employees will be able to load and unload the customers’ vehicles,” Abazi said. “We still have a 24-hour drop box.”
