Free bluegrass music concert Sunday in Huron

• Updated Jul 25, 2018 at 10:55 AM

HURON — Get ready for a fun, festive Summer Ensemble Concert with the Ottawa County Bluegrass Band at 4 p.m. Sunday at the McBride Arboretum.

Pack a picnic and bring a lawn chair or blanket for the free concert in a scenic setting at BGSU Firelands, 1600 Boos Road, Huron.

Performing since the late 90s, the Ottawa County Bluegrass Band has made its home in the Port Clinton area. The musicians love bluegrass music and hopefully it shows through in their approach to it. You’ll hear the acoustic guitar’s incessant boom-chucka-boom-chucka of alternating bass lines layered over wonderfully harmonious strings or the delightful slide of a resonating guitar.

Use the south parking lot for convenient access to a shady spot. In case of rain, the concert will move into the Cedar Point Center on campus.

The free Firelands Symphony Orchestra ensemble concerts are made possible by a grant from grants from the Ohio Arts Council, Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation and Frost-Parker Foundation in collaboration with McBride Arboretum, Erie Metroparks and BGSU Firelands. For more concert information, refer to the Firelands Symphony Orchestra website at www.firelandssymphony.com.
