LAKESIDE — Lakeside Chautauqua’s Hoover Auditorium hosts a variety of musicians, comedians, illusionists, dancers and bands nightly. Visit www.lakesideohio.com for a list of 2018 entertainers.

This week’s entertainment includes:

July 21, 8:15 p.m., Hoover Auditorium, Tim Hawkins. Hawkins began his career as a stand-up comedian after quitting his job as a grocery truck driver in 2002. Now, he performs 120 shows in 30 states each year. With more than 300 million views online and sold-out shows, his “Jackwagon Crew” of fans has grown into a revolution of multi-generational proportions. Hawkins’ comedy show entertains the entire family while doubling down on the funny, a daunting task in an age where the obscene has become routine. His obscure approach to the comedic stage sets him apart from others.

July 22, 12-4 p.m., Pavilion, Concert in the Park: Wally & The Beavs. Wally & The Beavs provide entertainment during the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show & Plein Air Art Festival. The band performs a variety of popular Motown and classic rock music, including cover songs by Steely Dan, The Beatles, Chicago and other respected artists.

July 24, 8:15 p.m., Hoover Auditorium, Rob & Miss Jane. Rob Lok and Ievgeniia Pokrovska Lok, also known as Miss Jane, first met when they shared a stage at the 2012 World Expo in South Korea. It didn’t take long to realize they could create dynamic shows together by combining the grace and beauty of Miss Jane’s dancing with Rob’s circus skills and a healthy dose of rapid-fire physical comedy. The result is a dynamic, family-friendly show that entertains all ages.

July 25, 7:30 p.m., Hoover Auditorium, Opening Night of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra. To open its 55th season, the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra will present “Home Movies”, under the direction of guest conductor John Gordon Ross. A reception will be held immediately following the concert to celebrate and meet the musicians. This opening concert will feature the “Waltz from Sleeping Beauty”, “Letters from Home” by Aaron Copeland, and selections from “Fiddler on the Roof”, “The Wizard of Oz” and selections from “Star Trek”.

July 26, 8:15 p.m., Hoover Auditorium, Atlanta Rhythm Section. Formed from the best of Atlanta’s studio musicians, the Atlanta Rhythm Section (ARS) came together in 1970 after working on a Roy Orbison recording session. For more than 30 years, the ARS has entertained audiences around the world. Their signature ‘southern rock’ sound has helped them attract generations of loyal fans.

July 27, 8:15 p.m., Hoover Auditorium, Lakeside Symphony Orchestra. The Lakeside Symphony Orchestra will continue their summer concert series with guest conductor Max Rabinovitsj and pianist Milana Strezeva. The program will feature “Concerto for Violin and Piano in D Minor” by Felix Mendelssohn and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony #8 in F Major”.
