The program consists of both contemporary and classical repertoire, featuring a Haydn suite alongside contemporary film and Broadway favorites, including “Over the Rainbow,” Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns” and music from “Star Wars.”
The Youth Strings consists of more than 40 students in grades six through 10 who audition to participate in this elite orchestral group. The orchestra is composed of students from Ashland, Clear Fork, Homeschool, Lexington, Mansfield, River Valley and Willard school districts. The Youth Strings perform as part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series and with additional support from the Russell and Mary Gimbel Foundation.
