Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings to perform March 25

MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings will perform its spring concert under the baton of director Matt Domka at 3 p.m. March 25 on the stage of the Renaissance Theatre.

The program consists of both contemporary and classical repertoire, featuring a Haydn suite alongside contemporary film and Broadway favorites, including “Over the Rainbow,” Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns” and music from “Star Wars.”

The Youth Strings consists of more than 40 students in grades six through 10 who audition to participate in this elite orchestral group. The orchestra is composed of students from Ashland, Clear Fork, Homeschool, Lexington, Mansfield, River Valley and Willard school districts. The Youth Strings perform as part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series and with additional support from the Russell and Mary Gimbel Foundation.

”The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings features some of the most talented strings players from the Mansfield and surrounding areas,” Domka said.
