Norwalk Reflector staff writer Cary Ashby is part of the three-day Huron County Honor Trip.

The group includes veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the “Cold War” along with eight total students from Norwalk and St. Paul high schools.

Ashby, who is passionate about writing about vets, will cover part of the trip on social media. For photos, follow his professional Facebook page at “Cary Ashby — reporter & comic book blogger,” on Twitter at @Cary_reporter and on Instagram at @csa4jedi. He also plans on adding accounts of the trip on his Cary’s Comics Craze blog, caryscomicscraze.blogspot.com.

His family has served in the armed forces. Ashby’s late father, Charles J. “Jack” Ashby, was a member of the U.S. Navy. His maternal grandfather, the Rev. Philip Cary Adams, served in the U.S. Army in World War I and was a Navy chaplain in WWII. Cary Ashby’s cousin, Andy Temme, is a fire support officer in the Army.
