Self-care focus of CLI, Stein Hospice retreat

By Norwalk Reflector staff • Feb 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM

CLI, in partnership with Stein Hospice, hosted the Quality of Life Wellness retreat Jan. 25 at 16 West for their clients, caregivers and community.

The retreat centered around the concept of good self-care as we move into the new year. Talented local residents volunteered their time to make the event a success.

Kimberly Go, a representative of doTERRA products, hosted mini-sessions on the therapeutic uses of essential oils. Gretchen Franklin, of Stein Hospice, spent the day providing relaxing facial massages. Many other volunteers donated their time by providing other relaxing services such as chair massages, pet therapy dogs, soothing harp music, manicures and paraffin dips.

Peacock Water donated bottled water for the health-focused event. Stein Hospice and CLI also put together “pamper yourself “ baskets, which were raffled off at the retreat. The proceeds of the raffle were donated to the OHgo mobile food pantry.

CLI and Stein Hospice are partnering together to develop Project 4:10. This project will benefit both agencies, their clients, caregivers as well as the local community. Project 4:10 hopes to raise awareness, reduce caregiver burnout, create a meaningful volunteer program, promote the use of holistic therapies for healthy living and help to assist in creating a better quality of life.
