Ohio 61 re-opens after accident

Ohio 61 has been re-opened to traffic.

The North Fairfield Fire Department was among the agencies assisting at the scene.

NORTH FAIRFIELD — Ohio 61 is closed at the Hanville Corners intersection due to an emergency.

Motorists are told to find alternative routes and avoid the area.

There was an accident involving a piece of farm equipment and a LifeFlight helicopter was called in, according to a Huron County EMA official.

Willard firefighters and the Huron County Sheriff’s Office also are at the scene.

The closing was announced by the Huron County alert system at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Ohio 61-Hanville Corners intersection is located just north of the Ohio 61-Ohio 162 intersection, not far from the village of North Fairfield.
