• Nov 6, 2018 at 3:09 PM

MONROEVILLE — A portion of the Village of Monroeville was without power early this morning.

Around 2:50 a.m. power was interrupted to the west side of the village in an area from Broad Street to Ohio 99, as well as part of the downtown, North Street, Milan Avenue and River Road.

Part of the effected area had power restored by 3:30 a.m. however, the downtown, Milan Avenue and River Road remained without power until 5:50 a.m.

Electric division superintendent Dave Hamons reports the cause was a downed distribution line at the corner of Broad Street and Hamilton. Repairs were made without incident and all service was back to normal by 5:50 a.m. Hammons reminded residents never to go near a downed power line, under any circumstances.

All are encouraged to call the village electric division at 419-465-4149 with any safety concerns or questions.
