50 for 50 — Pabst running with sister in his heart

By Norwalk Reflector Staff • Aug 3, 2018 at 5:00 PM

On Sunday, St. Paul cross country coach Robert Pabst will be running 50 miles on his 50th birthday as a memorial to his sister, Liz, who died about three years ago.

“We’ve titled the event 50 for 50 for Liz and are using it as an opportunity to raise money for the Special Olympics, an organization that Liz participated in and that members of my family still participate in today,” said Lauren Pabst, Robert’s daughter.

Robert will be running his 50 miles at Veterans Memorial Lake Park, Shelter K. Members of the SPH cross country team will be stopping by throughout the day to run a few miles with him as well as anyone else who wishes to come and run with him.

The run begins at 7a.m. and is estimated to take about 12 hours to complete.
