Project Leadership of Huron County will accept school supplies and donations for needy school children in Norwalk from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday at the Norwalk City Schools board of education office, 134 Benedict Ave.
Distribution of school supplies for eligible children at Norwalk Catholic School and Norwalk City Schools will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Salvation Army building on Whittlesey Avenue.
Parents are asked to register their children at The Salvation Army from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday or Aug. 1 so that book bags will be packed with the required items for each grade level.
Stuff the Bus
The Western Reserve Schools Stuff the Bus takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Dollar General in Wakeman. Help us stuff the bus with school supplies that will help local kids in need. If you can't make it that day, drop supplies off to the Wakeman Library or during the elementary open house.
Big Latch On
Promote and support breastfeeding at the Big Latch Saturday at Clark Park, U.S. 20, Monroeville. Registration starts at 10 a.m., with the countdown at 10:30 a.m.
Willard concert in the park
WILLARD — The Wayfarers is scheduled to perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday as part of Willard’s Concert in the Park series. Concessions will be available for purchase or concert-goers can bring a picnic basket and utilize one of the covered picnic tables. In case of rain, the concert will be held indoors at the Depot building which is adjacent to the regular concert area. Every Tuesday night through Aug. 14 a different group or performer plays and the music styles can range from bluegrass to rock to classical to folk.
Free Summer Concert
The free Summer Concert Series will continue at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Lake Park. Live music by Dan Robertson will entertain the crowds. All are welcome to attend. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, pets, Frisbees and other outdoor items to enjoy. In addition to the music, there will be raffles, refreshments and more.
