It is not a tax increase, as indicated in Wednesday’s Reflector.
Members also passed a resolution “directing CSX Transportation, Inc., to immediately repair the crossing of its rail line along West Main Street (Ohio 162) and North Main Street (Ohio 60).” The mayor also filed two complaints with the Public Utility Commission and one with ODOT.
These two crossings are considered dangerous for pedestrians and a long series of communications with the railroad has produced no results.
Park Supervisor Joe Thomas reported both parks have been extremely busy and the new putt putt course at the Reservoir Park is almost complete. That park will host Rockin’ the Rez July 14. Presale tickets of $10 for adults will be available beginning July 2 at the village office, the campground office and Gilbert’s Hardware. The cost will be $12 the day of the event.
Fire Chief John Chapin said his department has received a $12,500 grant from the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation. It will pay for an extractor which he described as, “a great big washing machine,” which will be able to clean three complete sets of gear at one time.
An owner of a store front on East Main gave council a bill for repair of the sidewalk in front of his property. No action was taken on the matter.
