MONROEVILLE — Vintage baseball is coming to Monroeville to help the village celebrate its 150th anniversary.

Monroeville will host Ohio Village Muffins in a vintage baseball game at 2 p.m. Sunday at Clark Park. Pregame activities are set to begin about 1:30. Admission is free.

The team of “Monroevillians,” called the Monroeville Brewers, will include 15 men ages 25 to 66 who have a connection to the village in some way. They will be dressed in period-authentic uniforms and play by the rules of the game in 1860. They even will use period-specific balls and bats and true to the era. There will be no mitts used.

Refreshments can be purchased at the concession stand, which is being sponsored by the Monroeville Athletic Boosters. Residents are encouraged to bring their favorite lawn chair and enjoy a day of good family fun to celebrate Monroeville’s sesquicentennial.
