A new story will be available at the Sofios Family Park StoryWalk all October long.

Stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the special Halloween tale “Ghost in the House” by Ammi-Joan Paquette. Follow the ghost and see who he meets on a dark, spooky night. Sofios Family Park is located at 39 N Old State Road.

On the first Tuesday of every month, the library bust sout the bricks. LEGO Day is at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 2. All ages are welcome to build and compete.

Children age 5 and younger can attend story time every Thursday at 11 a.m. This month’s dates are Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Students in grades six through 12 are invited to hang out, play video games, and craft at Teen Time at 3pm Oct. 4 and 18.

Children of all ages will love “The Wonderful World of Bats” at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6. Join bat expert Jerry Schneider for this exciting program on echolocation, bat species and more. Wear something you don’t mind getting messy – we’ll be making tie-dye shirts. Space is limited so sign up soon.

Adults can join us in making three-dimensional book pumpkins. Get your home ready for fall with cute decorations. Sign up at the main desk.

Music and Movement is the perfect time to shake out the sillies. Children ages 0-5 are invited to join us on select Fridays. This month's date is October 26 at 10:30 a/m.

Stop by the library during Imagine Norwalk Friday on Oct. 26. Staff members will be on the lawn, passing out treats. We might have a very special guest.

The Best Book Club Ever will meet at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Students in grades three through five will explore this month’s book with games, crafts and discussion. Pick up your copy in the children’s room.

Stop by the library on Halloween (Oct. 31) from 4 to 7:30 p.m. to build a haunted gingerbread house. Make a spooky treat in this fun twist on a holiday classic while supplies last.

The library will be closed Oct. 8 in observance of Columbus Day and will reopen at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9. The book and A/V drops remain open for your convenience.

Visit the library website at or call 419-668-6063 for information on programs, services and more. Check out the Hoopla and Libby apps to download books, movies, music, and more – even when we’re closed.

Regular library hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Norwalk Public Library is located at 46 W. Main St.
