New book offers in-depth interviews with some top names in Cleveland sports

A new book offering in-depth interviews with some top names in Cleveland sports with hit store shelves next month.

In his book “Cleveland’s Finest,” author Vince McKee highlights the best moments, players, and media members in Cleveland sports history.

It has extremely personal in-depth interviews with some of the top names in Cleveland sports. Each interview is a no-holds-barred tell-all of the most intimate and sometimes controversial details of the largest impact moments in the town’s sports history.

Read all about baseball legends Joe Charboneau, Len Barker, Mike Hargrove, Carlos Baerga and John Hart.

Discover all the details that basketball stars Fred McLeod, Austin Carr, Larry Nance and Craig Ehlo plus broadcaster Joe Tait shared with the author.

Soccer fans will enjoy reading the stories of Otto Orf, Bruce Miller, Hector Marinaro and Zoran Karic.

Football star Joe DeLuca also shared tales with McKee.

Equally important are the opinions of sports journalists Jerry Mires, Kenny Roda, Ken Carman, Emmett Golden, J.G. Spooner and Gene Winters, who all provided their take on Cleveland's finest.

Cleveland’s Finest is written from the player’s point of view, mixed in with the media who covered it and the fans that watched.

“Cleveland’s Finest will change the way the entire sports nation looks at Cleveland,” publicist Liliane Opsomer of Keen Communications said. “Finally, the true stories are told.”

The release date in stores is Nov. 10.

McKee is a growing force in the sports literary world. His other books Hero, Jacobs Field, The Cleveland Cavaliers: A History of the Wine & Gold and The Redemption of the King: LeBron James Returns to Cleveland have helped to build his credibility as a chronicler of the impact of Ohio sports.

McKee also is the MMA correspondent for InscriberMag: Digital Magazine as well as beat reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and The Medina Gazette.
