Let's not forget our trees

NOTE: The following letter to the editor was submitted by Richard Missler of Norwalk.

Let’s have some primary fur fly over fir trees.

The alpine look and feel  — undulating land features, rocks, water — still and flowing; but most importantly spruce and pine trees.

And in winter — while leaf bared trees are fascinating, none surpass the evergreens.

Louis Frey would not be pleased that successive city administrations have left the noted pine forests at the reservoir park slowly die off. Trees have been planted, but none of these.

The same could be said of Woodlawn Cemetery, the other half of our scenic 1-2 punch.

Some folks look but do not see. When we look out there we should be able to forget we are merely here.
