Earth Day coverage appreciated

NOTE: The following letter to the editor was submitted by John Sabin of Oberlin.

Thank you to the Norwalk Reflector for three front-page stories that appeared on Earth Day, April 22.

First, a story about creative ways to recycle. Next to that, a story about local farmers helping flood victims in Nebraska. Under that, a story about Governor DeWine’s efforts to improve Lake Erie water quality. Climate change is increasing heavy rainfall in the Midwest. Flooding in Nebraska and toxic algae in Lake Erie are some of the consequences.

If we want to combat climate change, we need to do more than recycle. (Although recycling is helpful!) We need bipartisan action in the US Congress. Citizens’ Climate Lobby helps ordinary citizens develop respectful and influential relationships with members of Congress. Would you like to be involved? You can find out how at www.citizensclimatelobby.org.
