The National Democratic Party should nominate Oprah Winfrey for President in 2020. I believe she has the current winning formula: the majority of the US population knows her face, her confidence, her articulate wit and charm in front of an audience (small or international), her persistence for personal-favorite causes, her awareness about current events ... and her multiple sources for considerable wealth.
But Oprah does not have adulterous failed marriages, tawdry sexual scandals, multiple calamitous (for hundreds of others) bankruptcies, multi-million-dollar debts to oligarchs, etc. Those "challenges" did not stop the Electoral College victor in 2016, though.
In 2020, would an electoral majority elect the same person as in 2016? "I doubt they'd elect Oprah," one Rocky River guy told me, "She has no political experience. She's not qualified." Then he paused;. Thought. Smiled. "You're right. Her candidacy could be up and running at warp speed in three months."
NOTE: My wife and I retired to Norwalk Township from Naperville, Ill., (Chicago area) in 2013 because we were raised in the Cleveland area; we looked on the Internet and randomly found a great retirement homestead here. We saw it on the net one Saturday; in eight days we owned it. I have never discussed any idea from this email with any person in the Democratic Party. I am a member of the Huron County Democratic Party; in 2018 I was also elected by Democrats living in Norwalk Township to represent them. I have only discussed it with a couple friends from Cleveland and my wife.
