NORWALK TWP. — A woman was thrown from her vehicle and died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash.

At about 4 p.m., Mary Wright, 81, of Norwalk, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix north on Greenwich Milan Townline Road.

Allen Yoder, 47, of Wooster was driving a tractor-trailer east on Ohio 18 at the same time when Wright filed to yield at a stop sign, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The tractor-trailer struck Wright’s vehicle on the left side. The Pontiac went off the road before coming to a stop. Yoder was wearing a seatbelt and wasn’t injured.

Wright, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and suffered fatal injuries, the Patrol said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation by the Norwalk post of state patrol.
