The Volusia County Sheriff's Office in Florida asked the Norwalk Police Department to assist them in attempting to locate and arrest Norwalk resident Bradley D. Brown.
Brown, 36, most recently of 48 E. Elm St., was wanted on incest, sexual battery and engaging in sexual conduct with a minor between 12 to 18 years old by a person in familial or custodial authority.
About 5:19 p.m. Friday, police found Brown at the Press Box restaurant, where he worked, police reports said. Officers arrested him without incident, said Chief Mike Conney, and Brown was transported to the Huron County Jail.
The police chief said he didn’t have any information about the details of the Florida case.
“I only know Mr. Brown will be extradited to Florida to answer their charges and have his day in court,” Conney said. “I appreciate our officers’ quick response to the request and their efforts to locate and take Mr. Brown into custody; this is how the system is meant to work.”
Brown’s court date and extradition to Florida is scheduled to take place today. However, he could choose to fight his extradition, Conney said, which could delay the process.
As of Friday, Brown was no longer an employee of the Press Box, according to the restaurant’s owner.
