The two deceased are Douglas B. Crawford, 60, and his wife, Charlene Ann Crawford, 59, both of Shelby.

The state Highway Patrol’s Norwalk post has released an initial report about today’s fatal accident.
Here is what’s known so far:
A 2014 Ford Flex was northbound on Ohio 4 at 11:48 a.m. Monday when the driver attempted to make a lefthand turn into a private drive, entering the path of a southbound semi truck.
The resulting collision led to the deaths of the two occupants in the SUV. Their identities are not being released until the next of kin have been notified.
The 2006 International commercial truck was driven by Mitchell P. Case, 46, of Norwalk, troopers said. Case, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Ohio 4, just south of Ohio 113 in Huron County, has been reopened following the fatal crash that occurred there earlier today.

The accident involved a semi and SUV and resulted in two deaths.

Emergency crews are on scene, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation, which reported the road closure at 12:49 p.m. Monday.
There is no time estimate available as to when the road will reopen. Motorists should avoid the area.
