BRONSON TOWNSHIP — A pickup truck driver and his passenger were injured after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday at the intersection of New State and Dublin roads.

Derek L. Rigg, 31, of 2853 Neal Zick Road, Willard, was charged with a stop sign violation, said Sgt. Evan Stevens of the state Highway Patrol. Rigg, who wasn’t injured, was driving a box truck marked “Kousma Insulation.”

The pickup truck driver, Richard Thornton, 52, and his passenger, Ann Hargraves, 51, both of 2063 U.S. 224, Plymouth, had incapacitating injuries, Stevens said.

A LifeFlight helicopter transported Thornton to the University of Toledo Medical Center while North Central EMS took Hargraves to Fisher-Titus Medical Center, the trooper added. Their conditions were unknown at press time.

About 11:56 a.m., Rigg was eastbound on Dublin Road and failed to yield from a stop sign and hit Thornton, who was southbound on New State Road, Evans said.

Each person was wearing a seat belt.
