How late is too late to knock on someone's door?

BELLEVUE — Police in this city were called to investigate a late-night door-knocker.

At 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to a High Street home, where a resident reported a man with a shovel had knocked on the door. The resident didn’t answer the door, and the man got on his bike and rode away toward Main Street without going to any other houses on the street, the police report stated.

Police located the man in the 100 block of North Buckeye Street.

The man told police he was just trying to shovel show. An officer told the man that 11 p.m. “was a little late to be knocking on people's doors to be asking to shovel snow."

The man told police he did not realize it was that late and would stop for the night.

The man was released without charges.
